Dr Gaylene du Plessis MbChB (UCT) MRCGP (UK)
I qualified at the University of Cape Town Medical School in 1997. I studied further in the United Kingdom, obtaining my JCGPT in 1999 and MRCGP qualification in 2002. While in the UK I obtained invaluable experience in all fields of General Practice. It was during this time that I found my special interest – Dermatology. I relocated back to South Africa in 2012.
I hold a Cryo clinic every 6-8 weeks. This is the application of liquid nitrogen to certain skin lesions. I am also qualified to perform joint injections.
I am a happily divorced mom of three. My eldest is 23 years, my youngest 17 years. We have a noisy, happy household, not forgetting the 2 dogs and 2 cats. I enjoy the outdoors, the sunshine and a good pinotage!
Dr Daniel Isherwood MBBCh (Wits) JCGPT (UK)
I am a mid-career general practitioner, initially trained at the University of the Witwatersrand and qualified in 1996. I moved to London in the late 90s and completed my general practice specialisation in 2003. I worked in very busy National Health Service GP practices till 2016, when I returned to South Africa to work at The Gatehouse Surgery.
I have a broad general practice working experience but a particular interest in Geriatric Medicine.
Outside of work, my wife and I are enjoying the wonders of bringing up our lively young son, and trying to make time to cycle around the dusty roads and trails of the beautiful Western Cape.
Dr Rohan du Plessis B.Sc. MB.ChB (Stellenbosch)
I completed my medical degree in 2012 but I was privileged to do a Bachelor of Science before medical school. My career started in Northern Kwazulu Natal where I gained incredible experience. Our small family of 3 moved back to Cape Town in 2017 and I am now the proud father of two beautiful girls. I have a passion for helping people and consider myself a lifelong student of the practice of medicine.
Hayley Holt
I have been involved in the medical industry since 1997 when I was given the opportunity to be a ward secretary at Hermanus Medi Clinic. We got a wonderful opportunity to relocate back to Cape Town in 2010. I then started working at Oasis Care Centre as the Ward Secretary for the Rehab Unit. It was there that I got to work with Dr du Plessis. In 2017 I joined The Gatehouse Surgery as the Medical Secretary.
I have been married to Wayne for 31 wonderful years. We have been blessed with an amazing daughter Tracey, son Richard and two dogs and a cat.
I love watching the Moto GP and Motor Grand Prix and still do the occasional camping trip in our tent.
